Working hard in the gym / on the sports field, gardening, manual jobs, a poor sleeping position, and even sitting at a desk all day are some lifestyle factors that can cause pain and discomfort in any body part.
At Manchester Osteopathy, we take a holistic approach to correcting injury and pain. Mark will treat the injured structure in the body, fix any postural problems contributing to the complaint, and give you effective lifestyle advice to help prevent the problem from reoccurring.
Osteopathy is a healthcare approach that examines, diagnoses and treats the musculoskeletal system.
The Osteopathic approach to relieving injury and pain is to improve postural alignment by releasing tight postural muscles and improving how the joints of the body move.
Osteopathy is commonly known for treating low back, neck, and shoulder pain and is highly effective at treating these complaints. However, Osteopathic treatment is also as effective in treating elbow, hip, knee, and ankle injuries.
You will be given a diagnosis, a description of any contributing postural factors, when possible, an explanation of how the complaint started, and advice on how to keep it at bay.
Along with his 16 successful years in private practice, Mark has gained invaluable experience working in a GP’s surgeries, an Orthopaedic ward, the flagship branch of a Health club, the Scottish ballet, a Pilates / Gyrotonic centre, Westminster University polyclinic, and a physiotherapy department. He also has eight years of experience working in an Occupational Musculoskeletal consultant role in various industries.
"While training for an Ironman triathlon I found I had pain in my back, and calf when ever I ran over 10k. After just four sessions with Mark I was complete pain free, and still am after completing that competition, and many other long distance events since."
"I am very grateful for how he has helped me."
- Phil Smallman, Engineer
“After suffering with a back complaint that began during my professional football career 20 years ago, I went to Mark for treatment. I was very impressed, even amazed to find that after just a couple of treatments, my 20-year-old symptoms had subsided. My only disappointment is that I didn’t come for treatment earlier. I have recommended Mark to friends and family since my treatment, all of whom have experienced the same positive response I thankfully did.”
- Colin Lambert, Ex-professional footballer/IT consultant
I first visited Mark looking to improve my posture, and was very impressed with the results, and became a convert to Osteopathy.
Some months later, after surgery for a serious knee injury, my recuperation was greatly helped by Mark’s interventions the treatment, and suggested exercises - so much so that I have recommended him to my family, and friend who have all also greatly benefitted from his expertise.
- Dr R Carmichael
“I have seen Mark over the past 4 months and found him to be very thorough, friendly and professional. I believe he offers excellent value for money and was methodical in his approach to assessing and treating me. I would have no hesitation in referring family and friends to Mark.”
